Syringe with antiparasitic oral gel based on Ivermectin and Praziquantel

Composition:

Each 100 ml of gel contains:
Ivermectin 1.6 g
Praziquantel 8.0 g
Formulation agents qs ad 100.0 ml

Indications and Usage:

Fortimectin Plus is indicated for the treatment and control of gastrointestinal, pulmonary, cutaneous, gastrophilus parasites and taenias with only one dose (Gastrointestinal nematodes, Pulmonary nematodes, Cutaneous nematodes, Gastrophyles, Small and Large Strongylus and Tenias

Dosage and Administration:

The recommended dose for the treatment in horses is 200 mcg of ivermectin and 1 mg of praziquantel per kg of live animal weight, orally as one unique dose
Taking into account its formulation, Fortimectin Plus must be dosed at the rate of 1 ml per 80 kg of weight
The mono-dose syringe has a graded piston every 100 Kg and enough paste to dose a 600 Kg horse. The Multiple-dose syringe has a piston graded in milliliters and contains enough paste to dose 1200 Kg of animal weight

In general, it is recommended to follow the treatment with Fortimectin Plus 4 times a year, starting after 6 or 8 weeks old
In horses exposed to reinfection the treatment must be conducted every 2 months
In pregnant females, administer Fortimectin Plus one month before and one month after birth
Stallion must be treated at least twice a year. Fortimectin Plus can be administered without any effect on the fertility of the animal

Administration:

Fortimectin Plus must be administered orally introducing the pick of the syringe into the mouth of the animal. During its use do not leave the syringe exposed to sunlight. Fortimectin Plus is a sweetened and flavoured gel in order to be highly palatable and ingested by the animal.

Compatibilities:

Fortimectin Plus can be administered jointly with vaccines against Adenitis, Tetanus and equine carbuncle and with the administration of vitamins and minerals

Counterindications and Warnings:

This product is toxic. Do not eat or smoke while using the product. Wash hands after use. In case of accident consult the doctor. Keep out of the reach of children

Do not dispose o-f material in lakes, rivers and ponds being extremely toxic for the species within such ecosystems

Empty containers must be disposed of by burying , incinerating or inactivating the drug with strong alkali to avoid pollution of the environment

Fortimectin can be administered jointly with vaccines against Adenitis, Tetanus, Equine Carbuncle as well as with vitamins and minerals

Store the product at controlled room temperature between 4°C y 30°C protected from light

Side Effects:

Reactions consisting in inflammations and itching have been observed after treatment with oral ivermectin in horses suffering from a severe infection of microfilaria (Onchocerca spp.).This reactions are probably the result of microfilaria death in great numbers. These symptoms disappear after a few days. In these cases a symptomatic treatment can be conducted. Anyway, it is advisable to consult a veterinary surgeon

Restrictions in Usage:

Animals treated with Fortimectin Plus are not to be slaughtered for human consumption

Mono-dose plastic syringe with sufficient gel to dose a 600 kg horse. Net content 7.5 ml
Multiple-dose plastic syringe with graded piston with sufficient gel to dose 1200 kg of animal weight. Net content 15 ml
